Mother's Day at TUC

Hi everyone!

We hope you are all keeping well? It’s been great to hear about the ways the TUC congregation is caring for each other and those in our community. Thank you all very much for your continued generous donations to the LoveToowong fund. Remember, if you’d like to help out in any way, please get in touch with Dianne from our Care & Connect Team. If you’d like to hear more about Uni Ministry, or help out with this, please be in touch with Zac.

We’re really looking forward to bringing you a special Mother’s Day service this Sunday at TUC. Although many of us won’t be able to celebrate the day in our usual ways, we hope that you can all still connect with loved ones. We appreciate that Mother’s Day can also be a difficult time for many, so let’s keep those for which Mother’s Day is a reminder of painful memories in our prayers. Perhaps this Mother’s Day is a chance to send a message to all the women who have played important roles in our lives, whether they are a mum or a like-a-mum, an aunt, a grandma, sister, friend or mentor? I know I am so grateful for the gentle yet strong women God has brought into my life!

Peace be with you!

If you’d also like to take part in another “Passing the Peace” video, all you have to do is record yourself saying “Peace be with you from (your location)”. If you live in Brisbane, you can use your suburb as your location. If you are from further afield, use your city or country. Upload your videos here.

One great positive from taking church online is that we're able to worship with people from all over Brisbane, Australia and the world! In this video you'll see a few TUC regulars, as well as some past TUC members now in Indonesia and Colorado. We've also got some of Kim's family from Ohio, Garry's family from Adelaide, Brad's family in Cambodia and Mex's family in The Netherlands. Peace be with you all!

Let’s pray together for 24 hours non-stop!

Pentecost is celebrated on the 7th Sunday after Easter to commemorate the pouring out of the Holy Spirit upon the 12 Apostles and many other followers of Jesus while they were praying together in Jerusalem. This saw the birth of the early Christian church as the apostles, empowered by the Holy Spirit, spread the good news about Jesus and performed many signs in his name. We ask you to join with us in 24 hours of prayer starting from 9 am on Saturday 30 May and finishing at 9 am on Pentecost, Sunday 31 May.

Let’s pray together for a pouring out of the Holy Spirit on our church and for God’s vision and guidance as we look to the future! Simply sign up for a one hour block, then pray at home at your allocated time.
